  1. Nothing but a bad experience, I will never deal with these people again and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They are fast to cash your down payment even though u r not approved then it takes a lot of phone calls and hassling them to get my money back. Then when they sent my check to the wrong address they took money away from my down payment to cancel the check they sent to wrong address . very poor customer service experience. I felt like no one knew what they were doing. I feel they didn't even care about their customers. I would not recommend them to anyone , poor experience with their financial people and everyone in general. Take your business elsewhere and hopefully you will have a better experience. 3. I just dodged a bullet tonight with them. Glad I passed on it. The salesman was nice and informative but very very pushy, almost desperate for business and talking up himself and the business in a rather conceded way, as if they remodeled the white house or something. The product looked nice but very overpriced. I told him I'd have to sleep on it, red flags were going off like crazy in my head. That a big investment to get played on. I been reading reviews ever since he left and i dont think ill be calling him back based on what I've read so far. I'm sorry for your awful experience but thank you so much for sharing...

  4. I wish I had read these reviews before contracting with this company. My wife and I meet with the salesman on 22Oct 2015 and were convinced
That this was a worthy and honest company. I was told the work would be done by Thanksgiving. But after waiting two weeks and not effort from the company to remove the old deck, I call and someone came out and took down the deck. At this time I was told someone would come out and measure for installation of the new concrete patio. Well I waited and waited and nothing. So I called again, this time I as told that contractor James would be my point of contact and everything would be taken care of. This has been a very frustrating process, the company office manager said she would call back but did not, I have kept calling and would get a new scheduled date for the work. When that day came nothing, not even a call. I am still waiting for the project to be compleate diet now after the New Year (2017) and still waiting for steps.

  5. Please be advised that this company is no longer operating as Joyce Factory Direct (nor are they authorized to do so as they lost their licensee privilege). They are now operating as Steve's Factory Direct of St. Louis. Please update your blog for future consumers. sfdstl.com

  7. Nothing has changed. STL Direct Remodeling definitely won't refund the $2200 down-payment I had made to Steve's Factory Direct 14 month's ago citing that they are not legally responsible because it is permitted in this State of Missouri to go out of business and engage in no proper follow up ethical or moral responsibility. Also General Contractors do not need a state license in Missouri. After 6 months of Steve’s Factory Direct doing no work and offering no stated schedule for job completion, I requested a refund in writing. This they ignored and which to this date I have never recovered from them. I also never expected that they would again so soon go out of business and believed that I had time to find another contractor for whom I could use the money that I could recover from Steve's Factory Direct.
I believe it's not a coincidence that this sequence has played out at least once before when the “family” shut down as Joyce Factory Direct. I get the impression that they have learned that this shutting down under the old name and starting up under a new name by the same “management family” works very well to give them the ultimate advantage over their disgruntled and defrauded customers.
When 10 months later I returned to again ask for a refund the STL Direct Remodeling "successor business" owner said she would make it all good and “graciously” honor the previous deposit (except, of course, not refund it). She then also similarly postponed, delayed and never committing to a stated completion date. At the beginning I personally communicated with the assigned project manager at their office and as a result of the conversation was convinced that the work would soon get done. Then there was no action, no contact with me and no one showed up. After calling about the failure I was informed that there had been a change of project manager and then a change of installer. The same pattern of silence, delay and changes of responsible personnel emerged that I had encountered before. Then I was told that the owner would take control of managing the project and told that someone had finally visited the house to evaluate the nature of the work that needed to be done. Then I was told that they needed to look at the work again. After agreeing to meet with me during this visit, I was informed at the last minute that the visit was postponed. This postponement happened again and then again during the period of over two weeks during which I had stayed home and waited in vain. At this time and after 2 months of such repeated silence, postponement and delays, I finally gave up on believing that they would actually get anything done.
Looking back I regrettably was persuaded that the new company would be operated differently, but STL Direct Remodeling is basically the same “family management” personnel that sold me a bill of goods when they were in business as Steve's Factory Direct. I am a disabled Veteran but they don't care who they take advantage of.
I have discovered that there are BBB reports on Steve’s Factory Direct getting some work done properly, but there are many nightmarish complaints. These BBB reports complaints also already loom on STL Factory Direct and you are definitely taking your chances if things go wrong. Then you will either hear nothing and have to keep calling or contacting and confronting them only to hear a litany of excuses for why they aren't getting things done.
This company has been one of the worst contractor experiences I have ever encountered. Might have a lot to do with the slack laws, rules and regulations that they have to abide by.
